Securing tunnel ceilings and fire dampers with Swiss Lock

Tunnel construction

The Situation

The Swiss Lock Anchor has been a household name in tunnel construction for more than 40 years and is specified by the Swiss Federal Office of Road Construction (ASTRA) in the Technical Manual Tunnel/Geotechnology as a proven system for anchoring suspended tunnel decks and fire hatches, among other things.

About the Swiss Lock

The Swiss Lock is a wedge-free steel anchor, developed and patented by B+BTec, for the most critical applications.

Core drilling systems

Because every tunnel configuration is different, B+BTec designs and manufactures project-specific core drilling systems to carry out the drilling operations for installing the Swiss Lock Anchors as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Rotating Triple Spindle Core Drilling System for the Installation
of Swiss Lock Anchors in the Neuchâtel Tunnel (CH).

Benefits

  • Load Caracteristics Identical to Cast-in-Place Anchors
  • Removable for Inspection and Relocatable
  • Highest degree of reliability and predictability
