THE SITUATION

For the construction of the Cuyper stairs in the middle of the Amsterdam Central hall, an opening of 8 x 3 meters was cut with surgical precision under the station in the distribution terminal of the Metro.

Not an easy job, partly because heavy equipment cannot be used at this location and the work must also be done without vibration and with low noise levels.

THE PROJECT

It was chosen to cut the opening in several concrete blocks with the B+BTec wire saw CS17-E.
