Rail Anchor Amsterdam Central
THE SITUATION
Modern tram stops and new tram tracks, pylons and overhead wires will be constructed on and around the new station island in front of Amsterdam Central. Work started in 2019.
To anchor the new tram rails, B+BTec supplied not only the special GVB Glass Capsule Anchors, a derivative of the proven VDP anchors, but also the anchor rods and HiSpeed Diamond Crown Drills for drilling the anchor holes.
THE PROJECT
The required switches, crossings, track sections - both straight and curved - and the rail fastening systems were supplied by B+BTec Project Partner Alom railway engineering & supply. (website in Dutch)
The drilling work for this project was carried out by Ken Phelan Betonboringen. They had the opportunity to put B+BTec's newly-introduced Karat® 180 through its paces.
