B+BTec steel anchors: What are they suitable for and what aren't they?
Our steel anchors are perfect for applications where you need to securely fasten something, but the load isn't very heavy. For example, they are suitable, for example, for securing light to medium-weight objects in concrete. Think of shelves, handrails, or machinery.
It's important to note that these anchors are not suitable for heavy structures, such as supporting large beams or other load-bearing elements. Such applications require special fastening systems specifically designed to carry heavy loads.
How do B+BTec's steel anchors work?
Steel anchors work by expanding in the drilled hole when you tighten the nut. This causes them to grip firmly into the concrete, ensuring the anchor stays securely in place and your object is safely secured. Tightening creates tension in the concrete, so it's important to place the anchors a certain distance apart and from the edge of the concrete. This reduces the risk of cracking.
A major advantage of these anchors is that they can be loaded immediately after tightening. This is in contrast to chemical anchors, which must cure before reaching their full strength. This makes them ideal for jobs where speed and immediate use are important.
