The versatile Asphalt Screw AS is the right choice for a wide range of applications: whether it's for fixing crash barriers, construction site security, speed bumps, shopping trolley shelters, electric vehicle charging points, traffic signs, or even fencing.

The Asphalt Screw AS can be easily installed directly into all common asphalt types. No additional concrete foundation is required for this. Nevertheless, it can withstand high force transmission under repeated shock loads.

When installed in the asphalt, the Asphalt Screw AS forms a form-fitting undercut, forcing the BIS-PE injection mortar – previously applied to the drill hole – into the air pores of the asphalt. This reinforces the substrate around the asphalt screw across a wide load-transfer range. The large countersunk head is larger than the through-hole in the component to be fastened, thereby preventing the asphalt screw from coming loose when the fastening bolt is tightened.
Sealing the borehole also prevents water from entering and thus prevents frost damage in winter.

Due to the flow properties of the asphalt, the Asphalt Screw AS is only suitable for permanent compressive loads and for short-term tensile and lateral loads (impact loads). Tensile and lateral loads cannot be transferred permanently. Please also follow the installation instructions for the BIS-PE injection mortar.

Installation instructions

  • Drill a bore hole.
  • Thoroughly clean the bore hole.
  • Apply composite mortar (recommended: BIS-PE Pure Epoxy).
  • Screw in the asphalt screw.
  • Once the screw-in depth has been reached, mortar must appear at the asphalt surface. The anchor can be mounted immediately – the curing time of the composite mortar does not need to be observed.
