This specially developed anchor system is designed to safely and durably repair structural problems in bubbledeck slab floors. Development of the RAB anchor gained momentum following the collapse of the parking garage at Eindhoven Airport during the construction phase. An investigation revealed that a design flaw in the application of bubbledeck slab floors was the cause of the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Because bubbledeck slab floors have been widely used in the Netherlands, many buildings had to be structurally recalculated in accordance with stricter safety standards. The floor consists of precast concrete elements in which the bottom reinforcement and main reinforcement have already been installed at the factory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-c7b025d9-9753-41ea-9df9-154f69c7f138\">So-called lattice beams extend upward from these elements. These hold hollow plastic spheres in place, which serve as weight-reducing elements. These rods ensure that transverse tensile forces are safely transferred between the various precast panels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After systems such as plumbing, electrical wiring, and HVAC have been installed, a concrete screed is poured over the floor.
